"But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ." Phil 3:7
I really can't speak a lot into this blog about these words....yet. I have been studying Paul's life and what I have really drawn from it is the word "loss". He suffered much in his desire to claim nothing for himself except Christ. Paul's love for the Body and Christ was sooo evident. Any Body that rose from his time in a town, he would build on Christ alone and when he left he rejoiced that when trials came to them (for they would come)....what was not of Christ would not stand, but would be burned up under the trial. How much did he want to protect the young Bodies of Christ that he would leave behind? Yet, he would release them to what would come knowing that the trial would "burn away all that was not of God". Oh the loss to gain Christ!!!!
We watch in our own lives the "burning" trials and we watch the same in others. May our hope reveal that when all the ash is blown away, that only Christ remains.
