"Try to remember that there's a world larger than the one you inhabit."
I do believe that this is one thing that is being driven home in me from the books that I have been reading. Each of us has our own culture. Then, we move on out to the cultures we contribute to....family, intimate community, city or town, state, country....world. Who we are as individuals does impact all the cultures around us. Who we choose to be as a family culture effects the world and etc. Since we purchase a lot of what we eat, wear, or use around our home....it is good to remember that somewhere in Kenya, someone picked those coffee beans that we are now drinking and they have a family that they love too.
We are studying in our home school about eight year olds around the world. What their life is like, do they get to go to school, how much do they get to eat, what is the environment like in which they live. I am probably learning more than the kids!!!
I write this today, because this is something that I am being stretched in....this probably is not where God has you today....I just wanted to share a little bit of my world today.
"And who is my neighbor?"

Thanks for sharing:) I was just thinking yesterday about that...I was reading a Starbucks cup that said a poem and at the top of the poem said:'written by #48' well who is '#48'. I know this is different but each poem has a writer and each writer has a life and has a thought or a memory for the poem and i do hope he/she's thought is a good one and they have a great life
Love you mommy
oops!! so so soooo sorry I forgot to sign out of my moms blog... So the first comment is really me hehehe sorry:)
I hear you... today, we were going to go to an ordination (but Troy had to leave earlier than expected).. anyway, it was for a Burundi man who is here as a refugee from the wars there. He is marrying a young lady who has had most of her family killed there in the wars and she is looking for asylum here in the US... they speak 5 languages, but have trouble with ours... all that to say... there is so much I take for granted and yes, it is good to see beyond my little "island"... thanks for telling my heart yet again,
